This Valentine’s weekend Phoenix Home and Garden Magazine hosted the beautiful Phoenix Home and Garden Show at the Scottsdale Quarter Shopping Center. Lucky for us, Revolution 3D and Revolution Tea were the only drink sponsors on site! After being there an hour, my crew and I quickly realized we weren’t the only ones with an elaborate set-up. Other companies were building bedrooms, tiling floors, and working with flames!

Everyday the first 30 people to sign up for the Phoenix Home and Garden raffle received a complimentary strip of our hot teas, and the five flavors of 3D were served free of charge throughout the day. Guests could even hang out in our lounge and read up on the history of Revolution. The best part of the weekend came from a woman who was sipping from a can of 3D. After explaining to her that 3D donates half of the proceeds from Pink Grapefruit sales to breast cancer charities, the friendly lady replied, “Wow…not only do you make high quality products, but you’re a corporation with a heart. I love that.” Well ma’am, we love it too!

Hang out and relax with us as your listen to some seminars. Try them and let us know which is your favorite!

3D Mango in Oprah’s Newsletter!!!

February 2nd, 2010

Oprah

It’s been an ongoing joke at the 3D Office to somehow find a way to get 3D on Oprah. Well, during the Sundance Film Festival, we got a little  bit closer to that dream. As stated in my previous post, Derrick Ashong was taping a segment on Oprah Radio, discussing politics and hope. In the morning, Derrick sipped on a hot cup of Revolution Tropical Green Tea, but later on in the afternoon he switched to drinking 3D Blueberry.

We made sure to give 3D and Revolution Tea to the Harpo Productions crew, but were pleasantly surprised when we saw this picture on Oprah’s website. It’s a picture of Derrick Ashong taping “The Derrick Ashong Experience” and in the far left hand corner is a can of 3D Mango!! So maybe we didn’t make it on the couch in Oprah’s television studio or on her “Favorite Things” episode, but a picture of a 3D Mango on her website newsletter definitely brings a little hope to the 3D office. Oprah, here we come!

Let it Snow!

February 1st, 2010

Sundance1

Last week I returned from  a week in Park City, Utah.  The same week that it was pouring rain in Phoenix, it happened to be snowing like crazy in Park City! All that snow did not stop the Sundance Film Festival though. Fans and guests lined up outside for their favorite movies, celebrities, artists, and musicians, and I was out on the streets ready to hand them something nutritious to drink while they were waiting. Everyone was so pleased to drink something was actually good for them!

Sundance3

When I wasn’t walking up and down Main St. handing out cans of 3D, I was inside Crown on Main, a local venue that was hosting some fun, alternative parties for Sundance. There, we met celebrities like six-time Grammy Award Winner John Legend, former producers for the Fugees John Forte, and radio show host Derrick Ashong.  Both John Forte and Derrick Ashong really seemed to like the Blueberry 3D.

To top it all off, 3D also made it into the hands of Harpo Productions (that’s Oprah’s people), and the Oakley Invite-Only “Sunglasses at Night” party with Schwayzee. All in all, it was a great week.  Guests drank hot Revolution Tea and 3D in the morning, and at night mixed 3D with their favorite alcoholic beverages to make some delicious cocktails. 3D was the life of the party at Sundance, but boy was it nice to return to the warm, snow-free skies of Arizona!

3D Cocktail Recipes

January 4th, 2010

Jes Gordon isn’t just an event planner to celebrities like Madonna, Nicolas Cage, and J-Lo.  She’s also the author of Party Like a Rock Star, a fun, comprehensive guide to event planning that reveals her tried-and-true secrets of throwing big bashes.  Since Revolution 3D sponsored her online Twitter Party, Jes created some delicious 3D cocktails using her favorite mixers as well as our hot teas!  Below is one of her concoctions.  Give it a test run, and let us know what ya think!

Brain Frizz

- 6 oz. Lemonade
- ½ can of Revolution 3D beverage in Mango
- 3 cups Water
- 8 oz. Bourbon Whiskey
- 8 oz. brewed Sweet Ginger Peach Tea by Revolution Tea, chilled
- ½ cup Sugar
- 7-Up

Mix first 6 ingredients together in a freezer-safe container. Continue stirring every six hours until slushy. When finished, spoon into Collins glasses and add a dash of 7-Up. Enjoy!

Volunteering for the Holidays

December 28th, 2009

SMFoodBank

For over five decades, St. Mary’s Food Bank has tackled the challenge of easing hunger in Arizona through the vision of founder John van Hengel, and Revolution 3D is all about supporting their cause. At least once a month, the team heads over to the first food bank and volunteers, packing boxes for hungry families in Arizona. During the holidays, St. Mary’s needed even more hands on deck, so Revolution was happy to help. In our more casual clothes, we stood in an assembly line sorting through cans of food and filling boxes. Volunteering each month is just our way of helping St. Mary’s provide more than 300,000 meals each day to people who otherwise would go hungry.

3D and the Pink Party Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research

December 22nd, 2009

PinkParty09

In December, the 3D Team in San Diego found a bit of a nontraditional way to support breast cancer. The Pink Party at the House of Blues hosted an evening of stilt walking, body painting, belly dancing, and even some fire-and-ice entertainment!  The Pink Party directly benefitted the Breast Cancer Fund, the leading national organization working solely on eliminating the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease, and The Breast Cancer Network of Strength, which offers comprehensive support to those newly diagnosed, survivors, their families and loved ones, ensuring no one faces breast cancer alone. Who said breast cancer fundraisers couldn’t involve a little body paint?! Way to go San Diego!

3D Spreads Holiday Cheer

December 14th, 2009

PCH1

PCH2

Last week Lorena and I threw on some Santa hats and ventured over to The Phoenix Children’s Hospital to spend time with the patients and their families. Surrounded by a giant Christmas tree and holiday cheer, we served our five flavors alongside some snowflake and gingerbread cookies provided by the Biltmore. Lorena and I knew that not all the patients would be able to come downstairs though, so we threw some 3D in a red wagon and brought the cans to the patients. After word spread about the complimentary 3D, the hospital staff was anxious to get their hands on some too. What really surprised us though, was when the Arizona Cardinals Players showed up, and Big Red, their mascot, started downing a blueberry 3D!! Who knew birds like 3D too?!

The Wellness Community Gives Hope

December 8th, 2009

Wellness

When Joe and I packed up the car for the Cancer Connections Walk & Hope, we figured we were just attending a sampling at another walk, but this one was much more than that. The Wellness Community in Arizona is helping cancer patients learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of disease.   As soon as your walk into the 101-year-old office, you immediately feel like you’re at home. With wooden floors, cozy coaches, and a welcoming front porch, the Wellness Community breathes inspiration.

The walk kicked off the event, followed by arts and crafts, a band, speakers, and plenty of healthy snacks, including our refreshing 3D. Balloons were passed out to the participants, each color representing a different feeling that cancer patients experience. With the events like the Cancer Connections Walk & Hope, the Wellness Community in Arizona is able to provide a home-like setting for people fighting cancer to connect with and learn from each other. Most importantly, everything is free of charge.

And The Winner Is….

Who doesn’t like free samples? Well, over the holidays the 3D Team actually rewarded people for trying samples. (I’m talking beyond the usual rewarding 3D experience of antioxidants, vitamins, and delicious white tea.) At Club Afterlife in Old Town Scottsdale, the 3D Team paired up with Sunparties USA in order to give one lucky taste tester a free, all-expenses-paid spring break trip to Cancun, Mexico in 2010.

And the winner is…Chris Dennison. Congratulations Chris!!  You won a week of mayhem in Mexico equipped with foam parties and cruises.  Just make sure you bring some 3D with you. You’ll need to antioxidants and vitamins to help aid in the recovery process.
